I want to set up Windows 10 laptop with VirtualBox running XP. I am going to be installing an old CAD/CAM program on the XP and would like to be able to access the laptop's USB ports.
Which version of VirtualBox should I setup?

The latest should work if your host PC has 'Virtualization Technology' Intel VT-x or AMD-V/SVM. You will also want the Extension Pack for USB.
If you have any trouble start new topics for each type of trouble and we can try to help. Windows 10 and USB have some common but very often fixable quirks.

Is that 3D CAD? That could be a problem. VirtualBox 6.1.x no longer provides 3D acceleration for XP guests, so you would have the unhappy choice of slow graphics or being permanently marooned on 6.0.x while the world keeps moving further away.Zeke1 wrote:I am going to be installing an old CAD/CAM program on the XP
A Win7-32bit guest would be better.
