Dear forum,
I have a Virtualbox 6.1.18 windows 10 host and windows 10 guest. I am trying to setup a TCP socket server/client connection between the two by third party software sdk. This usually works fine if using two separate computers connected with LAN cable. But with virtual box the socket is blocked or closed. I dont need internet with the client os. I am trying to set it up using the host only adapter. On the host side I have IP 192.168.56.1 and mask 255.255.255.0, and on the client side I ha IP 192.168.56.2, mask 255.255.255.0 and gateway 192.168.56.1. I have disabled all firewalls and I can the ping the IPs on both sides succesfully within the software. Trying different ports seems not helping also... Is there a port somewhere I need to open, or is Host only -adapter the wrong one for this type of connection? I also tried port forwarding with the NAT connection but did not succeed... (Could not post any URLs here related to NAT port forwarding...)
