Hi All,
I'm new to the forum, so please be patient with me perhaps asking dumb questions. I have read some other threads on this issue but as my ignorance of VirtualBox is complete, the replies didn't mean much to me.
I've been using VirtualBox to run a Win XP VM for a couple of years without issues.
Today I updated my 6.0.something version to the latest Version 6.1.16 r140961 (Qt5.6.2) and the XP VM will no longer start.
The error message is:
"Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Win XP.
Not in a hypervisor partition (HVP=0) (VERR_NEM_NOT_AVAILABLE).
AMD-V is disabled in the BIOS (or by the host OS) (VERR_SVM_DISABLED).
Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed} "
This means absolutely nothing to me but hopefully can be deciphered by some of the gurus on this forum. I would much appreciate any help in getting my XP VM running again. My PC is a HP laptop with an AMD chipset, running Windows 10 Home. Please let me know if more info is needed. Thank you.

Re: VM not working after 6.1.16 update
Either your computer's "virtualization technology" (VT-x / AMD-V / SVM) is not on in the BIOS or Hyper-V is active. Go through everything in:
