Need hardware mouse for game

I'm trying to play a game in vb that doesn't track the cursor position, but uses the hardware mouse. Basically I can't do click+drag because game doesn't like vm mouse. I have tried connecting the mouse through the USB settings, but it disables my mouse in host. Is there any way I can get around this? I don't have any other mouse.

Quite frankly the solution is to get another mouse.
USB devices can't be shared, so if the Virtualbox simulated mouse driven off the real mouse can't work for your game, the only other solution is a USB filter, which takes the USB device away from the host PC. Which means having no mouse on the host or having two mice.
