Windows 10 guest on Windows 10 Host Keeps restarting

Post by PastExpiryDotCom »

So it looked like my initial windows 10 install had almost finished when it changed to a BLANK blue screen. A few minutes later it showed the message of "Why did my PC restart" . It goes on to say there was a problem getting the PC read to use, but that they 'think' and update will help get things working again. It says I need to connect a network cable and click Next. I know my internet connection is working as I am on the host machine doing stuff like writing to forums...

The only option is to click next at which point the screen changes to a blank blue screen, followed again by the "Whyd did my PC restart" again... and again.... and again... (each time I click next).

When I created this I think I gave it more resources that were needed... 8gig ram of my 16Gig, 100GB of disk space, 4 cores, 3d acceleration graphics, and enabled PAE/NX.

puzzled what to try next. I am too new according to this forum, so it won't let me post screen shots.

First, a log would be more useful than a screenshot. Make sure the VM is fully shut down, then right click it in the manager UI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

Second, there is nothing stopping you adding screenshots. There IS something stopping you adding URLs, which you shouldn't be doing anyway: attach all files locally using the "Upload Attachment" tab.
