Strange behavior over the border host/guest [ BUG ]

I must ask about a strange thing that I experienced.
I'm running virtual box on windows 10, and this happened when I was testing to run windows 10 as a guest (on the windows 10 host)

I was going to drag and drop a file from my host to the guest, and I tried to drop it on the guest desktop, which didn't work (got the crossed over red ring).
annoyed and lazy as I am, the closest place to drop it, since I didn't have any folders on the desktop, was in the guests trash bin.

I thought I always could get it from there later.

I dropped it, and after a few seconds the 'dropping data' sign appeared on the guest.
when it was finished, the guest trashcan was empty..

Well, it didn't work, so I created an empty folder, and was going to drop it again, but now I couldn't find the file on my host, finally I found it, it was in my hosts trashcan.

So my question is, why?
how can virtual box trash something from the host when I'm trashing it to the guest? (it says move under the mouse, I could swear it said copy the first time)

edit: added a screen recording of the event

Unless there's a bug in the drag-n-drop, which is possible, Virtualbox should not be capable of moving the file on the host after dropping it anywhere in the VM.

Tough question, but it must be faced:

Are you sure you dropped the file in the VM's Recycle Bin and not the host's?

A video of this happening would be really good evidence of a bug and not an accidental mistaking of one W10 desktop for another.

The Recycle Bin really isn't a 'folder' as such, as I understand it. It's a reporting window for special hidden system folders' contents, one for each drive in the computer. I think a file already has to be on a drive before it can be moved to the Recycle Bin.

(BTW, I'm not at a host to test DnD into a guest's Recycle Bin right now.)

yes, I actually reproduced the issue before I posted this, didn't want to make an as of myself, I have a tendency to make conclusions to quickly..

can make a recording, when I'm finished with my current project..
