Issue when running a Windows 7 VM imported from vmware

Post by mifrey »

Hello all.

I am new to VirtualBox. I had a Win7-64bits guest VM on a Win7-64bits host with vmware. I have now a new Win10-64-bits host and I would like to use the same VM with VirtualBox (version 6.1.16 r140961).

I tried to export the vmware VM with ovftool, import the appliance and run the VM. The VM slowly starts up to the user selection screen. From there, it is impossible to go further. Moving the mouse cursor takes 10 minutes and the keyboard does not seem to work. I succeeded one time to get the password prompt but typing the first character took 10 minutes and it finally ends with a blue screen of death saying "A clock interrupt was not received on the secondary processor within the allocated time interval".

I attached the log files and the VM info. Can anybody guide me on how to find and correct the problem?

Thanks!
