Hi Everyone!
I have a little problem with virtualbox and I think it is bug of the latter.
I have always used virtualbox without any major problem with all the Ubuntu releases I installed on my computer. Abount 1 month ago, I switched from Ubuntu 16.04 to Ubuntu 20.04 and this is where all the problems began. Currently I run the following: Release 20.04.1 LTS (Focal Fossa) 64-bit, Kernel Linux 5.4.0-58-generic x86_64 with Mate Desktop 1.24.
The installed version of virtuabox is Version 6.1.16 r140961 (Qt5.12.8). The installation process was flawless (Everything set up as usual with no problem ). I also attempted to install an older version of virtualbox, but it gave me the same kind of error.
This is the error I keep receiving on every single vm I have:
VT-x is not available (VERR_VMX_NO_VMX).
Result Code:
NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component:
ConsoleWrap
Interface:
IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}
At first sight, It seem that the virtualization setting in BIOS was set off, but this is not the case. I hadn't touched BIOS for ages and I never had a problem with the previous versions of virtualbox.
Any help will be highly appreciated,
Thanks in advance

Re: UBUNTU 20.04.1 VIRTUALBOX NO LONGER WORKS
VirtualBox 6.1.x requires VT-x. It no longer offers the option of virtualization in software. This is intentional.
FAQ: I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests.

Have you followed the instructions in paras. 1 & 2 of the link given above. I had the same issue and that fixed it for me.MCal wrote:So what habe I to do to keep using virtualbox?mpack wrote:VirtualBox 6.1.x requires VT-x.
