Dear reader,
In my task manager on Windows 10 I have noticed that the memory usage voor the Kali Linux virtual machine is considerably low.
As my virtual machine is up and running and idle it seems to just be using aprox. 12 MB added up.
And in my virtual machine it shows to be using about 421MB with htop.
In my opinion I could use a much larger amount to be available for the Linux VM.
Is there an option to configure the memory usage on the Windows 10 host machine?
Kali Linux Virtual Machine configured for 2GB only seems to use aprox. 200MB

A Linux VM will typically only grab host RAM that it needs, up to the maximum configured in the settings. Giving it more RAM than it needs will do nothing - until it's needed.
A Windows VM behaves differently. Windows tests all RAM on startup, which forces it to be allocated by the host. There is no mechanism to return it to the host after that, and in any case AFAIK there is no "trim" for RAM that can tell VirtualBox that the VM has finished with this previously allocated RAM.
