Went thru a Windows 10 upgrade yesterday. After the restart my beautiful Debian 10 VM ceased to have network connectivity. I twiddled with this and that and cannot seem to get it back. I am using a bridged Wi-Fi connection but the issue seems to be that the virtual NIC will not "connect". I created a new VM of the same sort and that network in that one works fine. I have a bunch of stuff installed on the original VM and would hate to have to abandon it. Any ideas anyone?

Nothing magical happens when you create a new VM. It doesn't get waved through just because it's a first time network connection.

Go into the VM settings and make sure that the NIC you are bridging to still exists. Windows is fond of renaming NICs in subtle ways during feature updates.

Windows did not rename anything but looking at the Advanced Adapter setting I noticed the "Cable Connected" was unchecked. Re-connected and I am up again. Thank you.
