hello, i have a proble
m when i want to install VM of windows server 2019 i have a message error name "Guru meditation"
i dont know why because my VM of ubuntu or W10 pro works well ...

First and foremost, if it's a Windows Server 2019 VM then choose the "Windows 2016" template (*), not the Windows 7 template you are currently using (I just tested and this is not entirely your fault: VirtualBox makes a bad suggestion for the template when you type "Windows Server 2019"). The Windows 7 template is not suitable for Windows 8.1 or later, i.e. it will error out.

That is not the only odd choice in the VM settings.

I would increase the RAM allocation to 6144MB.

Set the number of vCPUs to 2.

Enable 3D acceleration then increase graphics RAM to 256MB.

(*) Your ISO actually seems to be for Windows Server Essentials 2019, which I understand is based on business server 2016, not on business server 2019.

thanks, now i dont have error but i have an infinite loading screen maybe because i can't have 256Mb VRAM i don't kwon why ?

3D acceleration must be enabled to access 256MB video RAM.

Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.

Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip it, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Hi. I am having the exact same problem.

I initially tried loading Windows 2019 from iso using the virtualbox Windows 2016 and Windows 2019 templates.

Both templates give GURU Meditation error just after starting up the virtual machine.

Note that the GURU error persists even with 8GB RAM and 2 CPUs allocated to the VM.

I've attached log files for the error.

I then followed the comment in the thread to increase the Video Ram allocated. However, the only way to increase video ram greater than 128 MB is to first increase the 'Monitor Count' to 8, then VirtualBox allows you to increase the Video Memory. Curiously, after increasing Video Memory to 256 MB, you can then decrease the Monitor Count back to 1.

I loaded up the VM with 256MB Video Memory and the GURU Meditation error disappears. However, as mentioned in the thread, the VM loading screen just hangs.

I've attached log files for when the VM just hangs.

*I'm running VirtualBox Version 6.1.16 r140961 (Qt5.6.2) on Windows 10 Pro 20H2 Os build 19042.685*

Any help would be appreciated.

I doubt that your problem is the same (*), yours seems to be a straightforward Hyper-v conflict.
