Goldmine is a CRM

I'm trying good results with Goldmine in the Virtual Machine.

I have an installation on windows xp pro system where the virtual box is also installed.

This is a portable installation. Only need the direct access to the disc Y:

This is the initial situation :
Y:\goldminePrg
Y:\goldminePrg\gmbase
y:\goldmine\agenciacomercialpmsl

I create share folders with VirtualBox , so :

\\VBOXSVR\GoldminePrg
\\VBOXSVR\GoldminePrg\GMBase
\\VBOXSVR\Goldmine\Agenciacomercialpmsl

and the problem is that VirtualBox don't recognize unit Y:

and I receive these two errors :




The direct access in the virtual machine goes to the net point

\\VBOXSVR\GoldminePrg
\\VBOXSVR\GoldminePrg\gmw5.exe

I supposed that the problem because it's not the same Y: than \\VBOXSVR .

What can i do ?

It's only a portable installation of Goldmine.

Have you mapped Y: properly using explorer or a NET USE command?

If so Goldmine might be using NetBIOS file locking, and AFAIK, I don't think that VBox host shares support this. You may need to use NTFS file shares to your host served NTFS shared file service.

I think a net use command.

But i have an idea. Install goldmine in virtual box and redirect in his configuration to the folders above express with no problem in the way VB understand.
