The telltale line was always there, and also is in the current log. Please turn off 3D acceleration to circumvent the NVIDIA driver problem if necessary. Additionally, please describe your copy & paste action with more details.

Hello scottgus1!

I tried to update the Nvidia drivers but I received the info that these drivers are up to date (see the screen).
Disabling 3D acceleration helped with the error message. It does not occur any more.
Unfortunately the screen resize did not start working.

I don't think I can try with the fresh VM since getting things installed and configured to start my everyday work would take 2-3 weeks dedicated only to this task.

I guess I have now two problems instead of one :(
I attached vbox and hardening log in case these contain any clues...

As for my detailed copy - paste tests:

1: VM > Windows
+ VM: open txt file in gedit
+ mark any part of the text with the mouse
+ press ctrl+c, or right click on the marked text and choose "copy"
+ Windows: open txt file in notepad++
+ press ctrl+v, or right click on the empty place and choose "paste"
Result: the text is not copied

2: Windows > VM
+ Windows: open txt file in notepad++
+ mark any part of the text with the mouse
+ press ctrl+c, or right click on the marked text and choose "copy"
+ VM: open txt file in gedit
+ press ctrl+v, or right click on the empty place and choose "paste"
Result: the text is not copied

It might be worthwhile performing the same tests using an alternative Linux Plain Text Editor if you haven't already, to make sure this is really an issue with your VirtualBox setup. Copy & paste problems when using Gedit have been reported for years on Linux forums with no VirtualBox involvement and there are numerous online links to reported problems on Red Hat, CentOS, Fedora and ubuntu Forums etc. In fact any OS that uses the Gnome desktop and provides the standard Gedit editor seem to have had issues; and there seems to be little evidence that the reported issues have ever been completely resolved.

I made the same tests with KWrite and the results are failed in the same way.
If you mean something else by "alternative Linux Plain Text Editor" then please give me some examples.

A fresh install of a new plain vanilla VM sans all the special stuff should take about a half hour tops.

The Kaspersky Anti-Virus software brings a keyboard filter driver with it. I don't know if it plays a role here, but it obviously is a candidate. Disabling AV software often does not help, only uninstalling and rebooting does.

An alternative to a plain text editor may even be a terminal with a shell. Ctrl+Shift+C/V are often used for copy & paste in a terminal. You could start with a short text like "ls".

I gather that this means you think I want you to duplicate your whole setup in a new VM and it will take you three weeks to do so. That's not what I mean.

All I want you to try is to make a new VM and install the same OS you have in the failing VM, and Guest Additions. That's all. Then try the clipboard with the default text editor the OS has.

You don't need to duplicate the 3 weeks worth of extra installs. Just install the OS and test if clipboard works.

Also note fth0's comments above.

Thanks guys for the advices and for being here ready to help!

Unfortunately copy-paste still doesn't work with Kaspersky uninstalled and Windows host rebooted.
What's worse, apart from return of tiny screen without resizing option, I discover that after the update of VirtualBox my IDE I used on VM does not work anymore.

So I don't think I will continue to work on that. Copy paste feature is important but it's not worth of such time and effort. I'm gonna accept the lack of it for now.
I did not try the vanilla VM.
I switched to VirtualBox 6.1.16-140961 where my IDE and screen resizing works.
