[Solved] VB 6.1.16 Setup/Installation Issue

Hi,

I'm a complete newbie to VB. I have been following a couple of YT videos to install VB on a HP Envy/Win10 (up-to date) laptop running BitDefender Total Security as a protection package.

When setting up an Ubuntu VM instance, I am encountering an issue when performing the Storage step. Under Controller: IDE, I click on "Empty" icon. Then under "Attributes", click the icon, select "Choose a disk file". The Virtual Optical disk file pop-up windows appears. I select the ubuntu-20.10-desktop-amd64.iso. Everything looks fine, yet the "OK" button is greyed out. (See attached.) I've tried clicking on the OK button to no success.

Any suggestions as to how to solve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Did you see the Invalid settings detected warning? You will not be able to click OK until you fix that.

If you hover over that message, do you get a popup explaining the problem?

Thank you for the reply and suggestion. I checked the warning message (which I have tried to correct), yet the error warning message continues to display, as the OK button on that page is greyed out also. In fact, the OK button is greyed out on all of the setup pages. (I just noticed this.)

What could be causing this? Thank you.

Either your computer's "virtualization technology" (VT-x / AMD-V / SVM) is not on in the BIOS or Hyper-V is active. Go through everything in:

I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests

Thank you for this link. Yes, it appears I need to adjust things in my BIOS.
