I have successfully installed virtual box and whonix. Whenever I start Whonix Gateway or Workstation individually on Virtual box both VMs work fine. However, when I run gateway and run workstation at the same time my mouse freezes up and both VMs close abruptly. The status then states aborted. I have Virutalbox 6.1.16 and Whonix 15.0.1.5.1 installed both the latest versions. What am I doing wrong or what did I miss?

Sounds unusual. Can you please post each VM's .vbox file?

Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show in Explorer/Finder/File Manager. Zip the VM's .vbox file (not the .vbox-prev file), and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Also, start each VM by itself, from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Get logged in, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.

If you have between 2.143 MB and 2.754 MB of RAM available, and try to run two VMs using 1.280 MB each, what do you expect to happen?

When you reboot your host, and start both VMs from the power-off state, it may work for some time, because Linux guests will not use the configured RAM right away. But if you start the VMs from a saved state (as you seem to do), they will use the memory they were using before entering the saved state right away.

Okay, so do you recommend I purchase another laptop with more RAAM. I only used this one because it was a gift and I didn’t want to purchase another one

I don't think I've seen another "Pentium Silver N5000" processor before. I assume this PC is from a low power (mobile) market segment, more Netbook than Laptop. These will not be the greatest for running VMs I think.

A proper laptop would probably allow you to add more RAM, or at least exchange the RAM module you have for a bigger capacity one. I don't know if that's a possibility here.
