VPN works on host, doesnt hide ip in VM

Hello all,
I have the latest Kali VM (as of 11-16-2020). I have Nord VPN running on my host (windows 10). When I go to whatsmyip with firefox while on the host, everything is fine. The site shows that mi ip is the same as the VPN is connected to.
However when I go to the site while in firefox inside the kali VM, it shows my true ip address. Im connected to the network through bridged mode. What can I do to make my VM run through the vpn connection? DO I just need to install nord on the VM? Thank you in advance!

Bridged acts before the host network stack, or at least very early in the stack, as best I understand. See Virtualbox Networks: In Pictures: Bridged Adapter. Bridged acts like an unmanaged switch, and if two computers are attached to a switch, the one sees everything whereas the other can be filtered.

You could try NAT, that might (if I remember correctly) allow the guest to use the VPN.

Or install the VPN inside the guest too.
