I have VB 6.1 running on a Windows 10 host. When I try to install VboxGuestAdditions I get an error telling me: Unable to insert the virtual optical disk...
The VboxGuestAdditions.iso is indeed located where the error messages say it is looking for it at.
Any ideas? Thank you for your time.

Re: Can not install VboxGuestAdditions.iso
The VM already has Guest Additions 'CD' loaded. When the VM is fully shut down from within the VM's OS, go to the VM's Storage settings and empty the optical drive(s).

Re: Can not install VboxGuestAdditions.iso
'Eject' whatever ISO (CD/DVD) is currently occupying the Drive. You possibly still have the Linux Installation ISO in the Virtual CD/DVD Drive if this is a new VM.
Re: Can not install VboxGuestAdditions.iso
I get that same issue too, on Debian Linux 9.
However, I don't get the error with Oracle Linux 7.6.

@jameskb
@msikari
It means to remove the CD or image file that is loaded into the drive. Click [Optical Drive] and then click 'Remove disk from virtual drive' in the popup menu.jameskb wrote:"empty???" the optical drives??? What does "Empty" the optical drinve mean
@msikari
Then do the same thing recommended above on the topic you decided to post in but apparently did not read and apply first.msikari wrote:I get that same issue too
