Failed to create VirtualBox COM object.

Post by Saleck »

Hi.
I'm receiving this error message whenever I try to start VirtualBox.

Using Windows XP SP3.

I can't really provide any more information other then that but I'll provide more specific info if needed.

Thanks.

what version of virtualbox are you using? I got a similar message on 2.0.0 when running it on Vista but I then installed 2.0.2 and this never happened again. Worth a try.

Also I think the FAQ has some mention of this type of error as well. Yep check this-> http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/User_FAQ

Is it working again or not? If not, try a reinstall of VB and see if that works.

Got the exact same problem on windows XP, also with service pack 3.
VB version is 2.0.2.

Tried to reregister the service, but still the same.
Also tried reinstalling VirtualBox...

Anyone?
