Hi,
perhaps someone has an idea for my problem. Host: Win 10 with VirtualBox 6.1 Guest: Linux Mint 20
mic is connected to USB on host.
In Virtualbox: Audio Input Enabled, Microphone added and shown in USB Device Filter ( set Remote to Any).
When VM is started, Microphone disappears in Host configuration. I guess that is correct since VirtualBox grabs the mic.
The Mic is shown then in guest configuration (Linux Mint) as USB Microphone. All seem to be ok.
It is also possible to mute and activate the mic from inside guest. (The mic has an indicator led which shows if it is muted or not).
Even though I can control the mic from guest, there is no audio input. Seem to be a one way street.
Thanks for your help

Go through USB basics and troubleshooting. If steps 1 through 7 cannot get your device working, please provide the troubleshooting command outputs in step 8, as text in

tags. Also zip and post the requested vbox.log, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.-

Re: USB Microphone does not work. host: win10 guest: linux mint 20
Hi, thanks for your help.
The USB microphone works perfectly at host. But in Guest not.
I don't guess that this is a general problem, since yesterday I configured a webcam with mic included. The webcam mic works perfectly in Guest.
Did steps 1 to 7 without success. Here ist the output of step 8:
VBoxManage -version
VBoxManage list extpack
VBoxManage list usbhost (its about Yanmai USB Microphone)
VBoxManage list usbfilters
VBoxManage showvminfo "Linux_Mint"
Thanks
Ralph

Re: USB Microphone does not work. host: win10 guest: linux mint 20
Looks like you are using USB3 in the guest:
If this device is labeled as USB 2, then it's coming in too slow. I don't know why or how to change this, though.
You have a valid USB filter for the microphone:xHCI USB: enabled
And the microphone entered the guest environment:Active: yes
Name: Yanmai USB Microphone
VendorId: 1b3f
ProductId: 2019
What I notice, and I am not certain if this is correct or not, is that the device enters Fullspeed, same as the mouse does. FullSpeed is USB 1.00:00:59.591255 VUSB: Attached '0000000006aa7ac0[proxy 1b3f:2019]' to port 3 on RootHub#1 (FullSpeed)
If this device is labeled as USB 2, then it's coming in too slow. I don't know why or how to change this, though.

Re: USB Microphone does not work. host: win10 guest: linux mint 20
Many thanks for your help.
I replaced the mic with another one, which is working with VirtualBox.
So actually the problem is solved
Cheers
