[SOLVED]Booting Kali Pre-Packaged VM Freeze at Boot

Every time I boot the pre-packaged image from Kali it hangs. Here's a link to the boot screen (quiet/splash removed) (imgur. com/a/HdL71It) and to the VM log (pastebin. com/m6wwPve8)

It seems to be something to do with loading a (slightly) older version of Guest Additions because no matter where the boot process gets to, when the guest additions try to load (or finish loading) the process freezes. I've tried playing around with the settings of the VM (chipset, pointing device settings, enable/disable USB, change the amount of resources allocated, change the paravirtualization interface, etc.) and I can't seem to find anything that allows me to boot into the guest.

I had to remove the links in my post because I just created this account and I had to edit down the log file because of character limits. Let me know if there's something specific that you're looking for that is missing (I tried to only delete repeated or verbose info). I'll try to edit in the links when the system allows me to.

Some updates. I was able to boot into a shell by changing GRUB options and it booted mostly fine (the HDD was mounted as read-only, but it remounted fine). Once at a command line I was able to uninstall the guest additions and remove the kernel module. After I rebooted the system, the same hang happens in the same spot just without the guest addition messages. Here is the end of the log file (all that was different):

This line tells you what your problem is. Attempting fall back to NEM: VT-x is not available

This has been answered many times in this forum. There is a standard reply. If you had googled the error massage you would have found this.

Thank you for the reply, I was just figuring this out. I googled many things, but didn't google that specific line because my original thought process was it had to do with outdated guests add-ons. Sorry for gumming up the forums.
