Virtualbox stopped working after moving files.

Hello. I have an issue where I can't get access to "linked copy" of "parent" after I moved files.

I have a parent: F:\VirtualBox VMs\VM1\VM1.vdi. I just create a new virtual machine and managed to restore this VM by just selecting this .vdi. So parent works fine.
Then I have linked copy: F:\VirtualBox VMs\04_09_2020\Snapshots\{017a19a7-c039-4f77-8515-97aaea082263}.vdi

Every time I try to add linked copy to Virtualbox I get an error:

I tried everything I could but none of solutions worked.
Here is the proof that linked copy above belong to VM1.vdi:

Code: Select all

<VirtualBox xmlns="https://www.vektort13.pro/" version="1.15-windows">
  <Machine uuid="{1620c114-9632-4d4b-8f04-af90a316ac98}" name="VM1" OSType="Windows10_64" currentSnapshot="{01386769-5c68-4101-bcbf-f0feff345be0}" snapshotFolder="Snapshots" lastStateChange="2020-09-17T07:59:40Z">
    <MediaRegistry>
      <HardDisks>
        <HardDisk uuid="{56f8c849-fd78-4813-8ae6-8da58ccacace}" location="VM1.vdi" format="VDI" type="Normal">
          <HardDisk uuid="{5b471908-afed-4475-bafa-b8feb4ad4fd2}" location="Snapshots/{5b471908-afed-4475-bafa-b8feb4ad4fd2}.vdi" format="VDI">

              <HardDisk uuid="{c6de36a6-2230-4669-9220-3c77a79e738c}" location="C:/Users/Admin/VirtualBox VMs/12_09_20/Snapshots/{c6de36a6-2230-4669-9220-3c77a79e738c}.vdi" format="VDI"/>
            </HardDisk>
            <HardDisk uuid="{017a19a7-c039-4f77-8515-97aaea082263}" location="C:/Users/Admin/VirtualBox VMs/04_09_2020/Snapshots/{017a19a7-c039-4f77-8515-97aaea082263}.vdi" format="VDI"/>
          </HardDisk>
Please tell me how to fix it. The linked copy got very valuable information.

Okay I found solution to this problem... So I created a new VM using .vdi that belong to a working parent. Then I went to option > storage (for that specific VM) and replaced this .vdi with snapshot (from snapshop folder folder in the directory of this parent VM) that had the same ID as the error. It allowed me to load in copied VM without any issues.
