On the windows xp installment, i can not get any internet, i tried shutting down the client and switching adapters and i cant find one that will work and get it to work. i have my cell tethered to my CPU and I also have a WiFi card,
on vista i try in safe mode and i cant install a guest, it wont unmount the drive to install and when i force it still wont unmount. i try this because for some reason vista use my computers internet, and that goes along with xps problem.

Try installing a browser from the last decade, i.e. that stands a chance of being compatible with modern Internet.
One issue per topic please.

Accounts can't be deleted. You can just stop using it and it will fade away.
However, how about letting off the throttle a bit and calming down? This can be a good experience if we proceed peacefully.
And just like if you go to your Mom's house and she has a house rule to keep the feet off the coffee table and you'll get an ear tweaked if you keep putting the feet up on the coffee table, so we have a few rules too, one of which is 'one topic per thread'. It keeps troubleshooting simpler. When folks leave their own house and enter another's as a guest, they find life is smoother when they abide by the other person's rules.
OK, life lesson over.
The Vista question will need a new topic.
What people think of when thet talk of a computer's 'internet connection' is actually two parts: the actual internet connection and the web browser. If you can ping 8.8.8.8 in the XP guest's command prompt window and get good responses, your XP is connected to the internet. However, XP's Internet Explorer is way too old for modern internet. The security protocols have passed XP by. And it is likely no modern internet browser will still run on XP for long.
If you wish us to check your XP guest's setup, please right-click the guest in the main Virtualbox window's guest list, choose Show in Explorer/Finder/File Manager. Zip the guest's .vbox file, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Honestly, that doesn't sound accurate to me:BigJosher wrote:ITS BOTH INTERNET RELATED

Sounds like internet in XP and drive mounting in Vista. Though you believe this interferes with XP's internet, it probably doesn't.BigJosher wrote:vista i try in safe mode and i cant install a guest, it wont unmount the drive to install

Nothing Mpack said justifies the responses you gave, BigJosher. We do have rules to make the process work better. And what could be interpreted as "hounding" is also because the advice to keep to one issue per topic isn't being followed, so the advice needs to be stated again.
Let's count this topic as answered. XP is not reliable on the internet anymore.
Please start a new topic about Vista's disk mounting issues, and another topic about Vista's full-screen unlocking problem.
