Windows Xp Pro need more setup?

I am writing this post because I have started using virtual box, about a week ago and I just got it to work correctly. I just had been in Windows XP professional disc lying around. The question I have is once I installed windows XP, I installed some games that not run on Windows 10 ompatibility mode, I found out as soon as I would run something like Oregon trail 3 that this sound always echoed and replayed itself on top of the original sound and music, kind of like it was double talking.

The other game that I had installed was dear Hunter three gold, and this sound work fine on that but the problem I have found is when I go to create the player that the bottom half keeps stuttering and it looks like it is glitching and when I go to hit the arrow to select a different look for the Hunter it won't even change to a different one.

Can you please help I thought virtual box was to just act as another computer operating a different OS, if it was just a different computer the OS would work with all program flawlessly and not mess up. are there different settings that I have the mess around with like an audio setting that I cannot find and a video setting I can not see.

It is not like I'm using illegal copies of the OS, they are ISOs of my own disk and product key, so I thought everything will work as it does on a computer itself. The big thing that really get on my nerves is the sound doubling up on itself.

Under most circumstances it does. Another computer running on a 1995-ish-era video card. Extra video demands and interfacing with the real world through audio can have some glitches, and games tend to stress the glitches.

Guest Additions installed in the VM might help for video. For XP, you'd have to run Virtualbox 6.0.x or earlier to get good benefits for XP. Also, for XP, the Guest Additions need to be installed while XP is booted into Safe Mode, and install experimental 3D acceleration drivers.

Linux and Mac hosts have audio glitches being discussed in the forum. These glitches may or may not be present with later 6.0.x Virtualbox. FWIW 6.0.14 had few troubles in the forum, and my regular workstation is still running it, though I'm not gaming in XP on it.

A VM's vbox.log will be needed to troubleshoot anything. Start the guest from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the guest from within the guest OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the guest with the Power Off option set.

Right-click the guest in the main Virtualbox window's guest list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip it, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

If you have installed the guest additions (as described above), you can go to full screen by simply clicking on the View tab at the to of the screen and selecting Full-screen mode. The display will go to full screen with the tabs hidden at the bottom. (It will pop up if you scroll down to the bottom of the window).

You can just drag a corner to almost fill the screen if you have the GAs installed.

I have no idea. What are you trying to install? Where do you get that error?

That sounds like a Windows error message, not VirtualBox.

This one? https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/win ... 35bcea0de0

If it is, it is probably just a warning, not a fatal error.

If you are talking about VirtualBox drivers, then none have been submitted to Microsoft for approval. Even if they wanted to - and providers of free software will not want to pay for an expensive approvals process - I doubt it's even possible to get XP drivers approved today. If this is a stumbling block for you then you'll have to stop using VirtualBox, because I can guarantee that this will never be addressed.

The rest of us just click past these meaningless warnings.
