Virtualbox on Kali-linux

hi,

i am on kali-linux : 5.8.0-kali3-amd64
i try to install virtualbox and the installation seems ok. When i launch Virtualbox i get this error :

Échec de l'acquisition de l'object COM de VirtualBox.

i tried a lot of things!

i have installed Virtualbox using this link :

it appears that you are running Kali on your PC, and Virtualbox did not install properly. According to the Virtualbox manual, Linux needs 'kernel headers' installed for Virtualbox to be installed (or Guest Additions in Linux guests, too). See https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch02. ... nux-prereq

Also, the forum only supports Virtualbox from https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads, not the forks many Linux distros provide.

Failing to acquire the Virtualbox COM object implies Virtualbox failed to install properly.

I am not certain about the method in your Kali link. It does appear to draw from official Virtualbox, but Virtualbox no longer uses dkms.

Also the 404 error implies that the file being requested doesn't exist yet. We'll have to wait until a Linux guru can help figure this out.
