Black Screen of death
Black Screen of death
I'm trying to get virtualbox to run on a windows 10 machine. When I try to install LINUX-MINT and start up I get a black screen. Hyper-v is turned off and 3d acceleration is unchecked. I've attached my log file. I'ver been banging my head against a wall for two days. Help greatly appreciated

Re: Black Screen of death
Your VBox.Log shows this tell-tale sign:
Not sure what you did, but it appears Hyper-V is still active and needs to be completely disabled. See viewtopic.php?f=25&t=99390 for instructions.00:00:07.421354 ********************* End of CFGM dump **********************

00:00:07.468006 NEM: WHvCapabilityCodeHypervisorPresent is TRUE, so this might work...
Re: Black Screen of death
very helpful. turns out turning off hyper-v in the control panel doesn't turn hyper-v off if other options are chosen

Re: Black Screen of death
There's lots of stuff in Windows 10, even in Home where you can't run Hyper-V VMs, that still use the underlying Hyper-V.
Glad you're up and running!
