Hello Everyone,

I recently posted 2 requests to this forum here and here. I am getting no response. So, I'm thinking that

1. I'm on the wrong forum. In which case, can someone please direct me to the right one?
2. My posts suck. I tried to be clear about my issues, but may be breaching conduct on how to post. (I did read a bit there before posting, but may have missed it.) If so, please tell me.
3. I am stuffed - there is no answer and nobody has a fix so I've lost my VM. If this is so, I'll cry a bit and then move on. Reading through lots of posts and C source, I got the feeling though that there must be some solution. Please tell me if this is so.
4. There is an unspoken hidden protocol; perhaps someone is waiting for a fee to look into this?. If this is the case, where do I go? The only place where I could find paid support is on Sun's site @ $30 per seat, 100 min.

Cheers

Hi!

Your post at at most 2 days old(In relation to this post), you need to be more patience when waiting for an answer, i have had threads thats been unanswered for 1 or more weeks before getting an answer.

Second the problem your experience takes someone with some specific knowledge to snapshots to answer and that limits the amount of people able to answer these questions thus extending the time from your posting to an answer.

So my advice to you my friend be patience, don't force an answer wait for it.

Hi,

Thanks a lot of the reply, Marcus. Yes, I realise that I am impatient, sorry. I need to pay salaries though and my employees are not as patient. So what do I do now?

Cheers

It's understandable, and i hope someone has an answer for you so you can get your salaries paid out. I cannot help since i don't use snapshots.

If the VMs are company critical, why didn't you back them up? Isn't that something that is essential if you have a single point of failure?

Anyway, check your first topic, I added a link for some help. As it's only one day, you really should have patience like Souldskater said. It doesn't always mean that it isn't look into. Some might be investigating on how to fix it and don't always reply. I will check your other topic if I have something to add.

Edit:
I see you posted your question twice, one which you refer to the link I just provided. TerryE is the VDI/snapshots man here.

Yes, I should have backed them up. The files are quite big (in total around 25GB) and I thought reducing the size first (by discarding a snapshot) will help. Not clear thinking there.

It would be great if someone just mentioned that it is something that they may be (or perhaps are) looking into. I got no replies & thought there must be some reason why.

Thanks for the response though.
