Virtual Box need help
I have installed Virtual Box on my Linux system but when I try to open Windows 7 I get this error AMD-V is disabled in the BIOS (or by the host OS) (VERR_SVM_DISABLED). Does anyone know what to do?

Re: Virtual Box need help
You need to ensure AMD-V is enabled in the computer BIOS for AMD processors (VT-x for Intel), as the the warning message indicates, as access to that 'feature' is an essential requirement. The method for editing the BIOS tends to be computer/motherboard manufacturer specific, so you need to consult the instructions provided by the specific computer/motherboard on how to edit BIOS settings.
If you need more specific help in tracking down the instructions/checking your computer's capability, you will need to provide more specific details about the hardware spec (computer/motherboard make and model, plus CPU detail).

Hint: AMD-V is called SVM in many BIOS variants.

As I said in my first response:
"The method for editing the BIOS tends to be computer/motherboard manufacturer specific, so you need to consult the instructions provided by the specific computer/motherboard on how to edit BIOS settings."
'We' don't have the necessary details about your system, so can't give you more direct guidance. Generally, when you can get into the computer BIOS settings you should be able to scroll through the settings until you find the one that needs changing. The process is to enable the AMD-V setting (or possibly SVM if your system uses that term); save the new settings. Finally, exit the BIOS settings screen and reboot the system.
