unable to write an Office document in a shared folder

Hello,

I've installed VirtualBox 2.0.2 on a PC with XP Pro SP3.

I created a VM under XP Pro SP3 and installed Office 2000.

I created a shared folder (with full access) to acces my physical hard disk : it's ok : I can create, modify, supress a file from my VM.

The problem is with Office 2000 (I tested with Office 2003 : it's the same problem) : I can't save a new document : I've got a message "Word can't terminate this operation while too many files are open"

I've got only Word and one file open !!!!

It's the same with Excel, Powerpoint,....

However, I don't have any problem to save files with other programs (notepad for example).

The problem seems to come from Office but I don't know how to solve it !-(

Does anyone have an idea ?

Thanks

Sincerly
Damien

I don't know how to solve it tbh. I use Office 2007 now and don't have a problem with this. You could try to create a normal network share and see how Office responds to that. If you have NAT set as networking, you can access your Host system and it's shares on \\10.0.2.2.
