Hi All,
I have an existing Virtual Machine running Ubuntu on a Windows Server 2008 Host
I exported the VM and installed Windows 10 on a brand new solid state drive on the SAME hardware.
I did a performance test on the new solid state drive, and it's slightly faster than the old drive.
However, network performance, both within the virtual machine (localhost) and over the network is much worse.
We have an Apache server running a small database. When the virtual machine was running on Server 2008, the typical response time is 0.7 seconds. With the Same VM on the Windows 10 host, the typical response time is 1.8 seconds.
As the machine was exported and imported, the settings are identical (verified)
The network adapter is bridged.
Also, I made sure to use the same network driver version and settings.
Both host OSes are running VirtualBox 6.1.14
Does anyone have any ideas as to why the network performance would be worse, even locally within the VM, on Windows 10 vs Server 2008?
