Try the VirtualBox User Manual Paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 for the basic step-by-step process. The Manual is directly avialable by clicking on the VirtualBox 'Help' menu item and then selecting 'Contents'.

'Old man', an ISO (in this context) is an image file of a CD or DVD. Virtualbox can use an ISO in the guest's CD drive same as one can put a physical CD in a computer's CD drive.

VirtualBox's normal BIOS does not support booting from a USB drive. VirtualBox's EFI does support USB boot, but EFI may open up other cans of worms.

You can get a Windows ISO from Microsoft, either through the Media Creation Tool or a direct download if your computer's OS can't run the Media Creation Tool. (Being that this is in Linux Hosts, you'll probably get to do the direct download, which will be easier. If you ever decide to use the Tool on a Windows PC, you have to be logged in on an Administrator account. You can't run the tool as admin on a regular account, it will error out after doing the 8GB download, thanks for the belated warning Microsoft! Rant off... :D )

The easiest way to install a guest OS is to use BIOS and an ISO. When you set up a new guest with the correct operating system template chosen, then start the new guest, Virtualbox will ask you to select a source for the operating system installer, which can be the host PC's physical CD drive or an ISO file. Browse to the ISO file, then let the installer run.

If you have trouble post back, we'll try to help.

Sorry, but I did a new installation: First Windows and then Linux, so the problem is over now.
