Solaris guest hogging CPU

Post by jcopenha »

Using VirtualBox 3.0.4 on XP-64 with a Solaris 10 guest one of the virtualbox threads gets stuck in an endless loop in kernel mode. It consumes 50% of my CPU. I don't see this with my Linux guest images.

The stack trace of the thread eating all the CPU looks like this

ntoskrnl.exe!IoIs32bitProcess+0x15
ntoskrnl.exe!FsRtlAddBaseMcbEntry+0x82
ntoskrnl.exe!FsRtlInsertPerStreamContext+0x48e
ntoskrnl.exe!snwprintf+0x1c
ntoskrnl.exe!KeInitializeQueue+0x3b
ntoskrnl.exe!FsRtlLookupLastLargeMcbEntry+0x2d
VBoxDrv.sys+0x8ef
ntoskrnl.exe!SePrivilegeObjectAuditAlarm+0x34e1
ntoskrnl.exe!SePrivilegeObjectAuditAlarm+0x2fe6
ntoskrnl.exe!MmFreeContiguousMemory+0x8fd
ntdll.dll+0x30a6a

Try upgrading to VBox 3.0.6. I haven't had the CPU hogging problems yet in 3.0.6 that I used to have in 3.0.4.
