I have this same error. The host is Debian Etch, the guest OS is ... whatever the latest net install is. (503a, I believe. I did a net install.) The VM will boot successfully about 1/3 of the time, but otherwise I get the following:

I've got nothing on this VM, it's a fresh install. I'm trying to get *ANY* debian distribution to run as a guest, so I'm willing to experiment a little bit. There's nothing in it to save, I just need to get it working.
