How to make Virtual Box work to switch from Mac to Windows?

Post by Stuartp77 »

I bought a MacBook recently and installed XP on its own partition, then downloaded Virtual Box to enable me to switch from Mac to XP without re-booting which is what I'm doing now.

But I can't make it work and if somebody knows how I'd be most appreciative for help.

Thanks,

See the numerous threads in this forum that talk about the failure of getting bootcamp partitions to work with VirtualBox. There is currently an active thread entitled:

There is also an open ticket on this problem as well. See:

Sorry to waste folks time and forum space. For some reason when I put in a URL path, only part of it comes out. It looked fine in a preview too. In any case, here is the title in text:

Jim, the forum software removes the main part of the URL, like the domain path and all. If you hover your mouse on the link, you will see that the entire URL is used, only the text shown is different. Check my example below. I've also removed your duplicate posts.

Check the VirtualBox FAQ to learn more about virtualization. Also check the User Manual to learn a bit more about how VB works and what it offers.
