WIndows 2000 Pro freeze under Vbox 3.0

Post by Vixen »

Hello all 8)

I just installed Vbox 3.0 (or should I say upgraded from 2.2.x) to see the new improvements made.

I successfully upgraded the guest additions on all of my Linux v-m and all run fine after the upgrade (I noticed some minor OpenGL bugs under Ubuntu Workstation but that's all).

I tried to do the same on my Windows 2000 Pro V-M, but the UI stops responding / freezes just a few seconds after logon

Well, I rebooted in safe mode, installed the new guest additions (3.0), rebooted in normal mode ..... freeze a few seconds after logon :(

Is anyone else experiencing this issue ?

I'm running Vista x64 SP2 as the host OS by the way.

Confirmed. I think there's a problem with network connection: try to disable it, it should be more stable.

Hello vashts and thanks for your help !

I disabled the network connection and indeed : the v-m no longer freezes like it did before :D

I will eventually try to use another network adapter or change the networking mode, see if it helps (before any patch from Sun, as for the moment this v-m without network connection is almost useless for me :| )

I will keep you posted.
