wireless in windows 7

Post by ancientscribble »

This is probably a really dumb question but I can't seem to get the wireless to work in my virtualized windows 7 install.

Anybody have an idea about what I could be missing?

My host is Linux Mint 7.

Thanks in advance.

The guest will use what ever the host is using for the connection not its own network adapter.
Read section 6 of the VBox users Guide.

Hmmm.

After reading chapter 6 and trying every combination in the settings/network menu, I still can't really figure this out.

So is the setting I need to change in the VirtualBox menu somewhere?

Look in the VBox program settings for the guest and then the network. Under there you will see 3 areas that are able to be changed. The last should be called named. There you should see your Host NIC and should be able to select it. Now for the Virtual adapter that is presented to Windows 7 RC you should select the Inter PRO/1000 MT. NAT if you just want to get to the Internet and Bridged if you need it to function as a network enabled PC as well.
