VirtualBox Server

Post by Serge Fonville »

I have been following VirtualBox development for a while and I have come to believe it has the potential to replace VMWare Server.
Unfortunately I can find no definitive information about how I should do this.

Presently I am running CentOS 5.0 without the GUI and with VMWare Server 1.0.3. I have installed Windows Server 2003 and Netware 6.5 inside it.
Inside this configuration. Is it possible to replace VMware with VirtualbBox?

Thanks in advance

Novell is not in the List of supported Guests.

The Product Name of VMWARE is Server, you have a Server. The Product Name of VB is not Server.

Made your own conclusion, but i think, its clear.

Either should work just fine in VirtualBox since it is just emulating standard i386 hardware. It would be like getting an HP computer that only supports Windows XP, but you decide to wipe it out and put Netware on it. Even though it's not "supported" by VirtualBox, it may still run.
