how to setup network driver in windows xp(guest)

hi ,
i installed windows xp on Vbox under opensolaris.11
i also installed the guest additions but ... in the mycomputer properties the windows xp doest recognize any ethernet driver .. it detects the hardware but says the driver is not installed... help me what to do

Hi,

It depends on the hardware emulation you choose. For the virtual Intel Pro/1000 MT there is a driver available from Intel. Just google for PRO2KXP.exe. You can get the file to your VM via the shared folders feature.
AFAIK the PCnet cards have been MS-supported from their install media.
Rumours are that IntelPro emulation has better performance.
