From what? clipboard? shared folders? clipboard no, only text items.

From any folder on my Mac Os X to desktop of guest operating system.

No, does not exist. I think you mean the Drag&Drop feature from vmware.

Workaround is copying via explorer/finder.

Refer to manual how to install guest additions and setup shared folders.
