Virtual Box 2.1.4. Unable to iinstall Win XP ISO or CD Rom

Sorry if in wrong forum as newbie. I am running latest version of Virtual Machine Sun XVM Virtual Box.
When trying to run Windows XP either from a ISO file or from CD when I start to install Win XP PRO it comes as far as " Welcome to Setup". To set up Windows XP now press enter. When this is done I get a message
Set Up did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer etc.

I did have it working before when testing another XP Home CD and worked fine. When I tested it the again testing the Win XP Pro CD some of the boxes
where you have to give it a name didn't show up when starting to install. So restarted again and and boxes showed up but still no success so reinstalled Virtual Box and even tried repair and still didnt work.
I am using on a Win XP Pro system and have always given it about 500 mb of memory. I have tried various setting and not booting from hard disk in setup. Any help appreciated.
PS tried to do a search of my problem in these forums but no luck.

Did you create a harddisk for the VM?

It is better to describe your vm setting in more detail, such as virtual Harddrive setting, in ide or SATA?

Yes my stupid fault as vbox4me2 was correct in regarding hardidsk.
Created a Harddisk for VM and it goes very well. I must of done that when first tried and forgot about it then next time I tried.

As punishment for this mistake you will stay after school and write 100 times "vbox is better then vmware" on the whiteboard

Yes I had better stay back. No need to write its better as we know its better. As I had already had look at VM Ware and its only a silly trial program I think so thought it wasnt worth the effort to download.
No V Box is excellent just a matter of learning how to drive it.
I tested by loading in Win XP Pro which had Nlited and it installed perfectly.

When creating a VM, you get the hard disk question as a next step. It's pretty obvious you need a hard drive. Kinda hard to imagine that you missed that question in the wizard.

Ah Sasquatch.
If you read my post fully I did I say I had it working when I first tried it but didn't work again when tried after that.
Yes I did do a search of unable to find hard disk or words to that effect and came up with nothing. Using forum.
Tried typing in what I thought was suitable words to find my problem in Virtual Box and reached a dead end.
Must of looked for wrong place in user guide.
Also did a Google search and came up with nothing.
As I said if you had read my post it was working when I first tried so hard disk must of been there.

I read your posts. It was just a heads up for when creating a VM, that you are asked to select a hard disk, or if none exist, create one.
