Trouble installing ubuntu-eee

Post by dekstrom »

I have a Macbook Pro and I'm trying to install ubuntu in a virutal machine I created (512Mb, 8Gb drive). The ubuntu .iso file has been burned to a CD, and I'm trying to install it from there.

The VM starts, and I get the ubuntu logo screen, then the menu where I can select ubuntu install. I select that, it runs through a couple screens, then drops me at the initramfs prompt.

If use the 'debug' option at start-up, I get a couple errors I can't figure out:

hda: unknown partition table
end request: I/O error, dev fd0, sector 0
end request: I/O error, dev fd0, sector 0
end request: I/O error, dev fd0, sector 0

Suggestion: Don't use a cd. Attach the iso as if it were a cd, much faster and more reliable.

My way: "You live as long as you learn".
