How to enable VT-x after upgrade to 2.1?
How to enable VT-x after upgrade to 2.1?
I had VT-x globally disabled in the global preferences window. After upgrading to version 2.1 this doesn't seem to be possible anymore. Enabling VT-x for my guest still doesn't use VT-x. It looks like vbox is still checking that global flag, but I can't enable it again through the GUI. Does anyone know how to enable it?

Seeing this too
I STFW'd for it but cannot find the solution. Running vista 64 on a Core2Duo.
I forgot about this topic but I found the solution:
VBox doesn't actually have a global setting for hardware virtualization anymore. In my case, a faulty battery on the motherboard caused my BIOS settings to be reset and VT-x to be disabled (factory default). So when I powered up my VMs I had VT-x enabled in the guest config, but VBox didn't actually enable it because it couldn't enable VT-x. I would've expected a warning or some kind of an error, but VBox silently continued without it being enabled.
