another guru meditation error

Post by w2db »

I have VirtualBox on a Windows 11 host which had been working fine, six different guest systems. Went to use it today and got this guru meditation error I have no earthly idea where to begin looking for this problem. Did a re-install of Virtual Box, same result

Something goes wrong straight when starting the VM, in the context of using the Windows Hypervisor API. Hard to tell what...

Actually your CPU seems to be far too old for Windows 11 (you have an i5-650 which is from 2010 and is years older than the oldest CPU officially supported by Windows 11), and that's likely the cause of Windows Hypervisor not able to work.

If you disable all the Windows Hypervisor/HyperV stuff you should be able to use VirtualBox... see other threads in this forum on how to get rid of 'turtle mode'.
