Windows 11 host, multiple displays issues under v 7.2.0

I just downloaded the V7.2.0 update of the Windows hosts. I installed without removing v 7.1.12 169651 then installed the 7.2.0 extension pack. I then booted a Windows 11 guest that has 2 displays defined. When it booted both displays, Full screen mode, overlapped each other with the second display overlapping the first.

Ok shut down everything and then tried again same overlapping results with the guest.

Uninstalled Extension pack, then VB 7.2.0. REbooted host pc, verified removal after reboot. Installed clean vb 7.2.0 and then extension pack 7.2.0. Rebooted Host and same overlapping display issue for the guest.

THe VM control window where one can reset the View, it barely works for selecting the Virtual Screens selections. The enable disable option is nice when it is not greyed out. Other options are also greyed out too. Ctrl-F is of little help either in unlocking these options.

REmoved vb 7.2.0 and it's extension pack. Reinstalled VB 7.1.12 all is fine. No I did not get to the point of installing the 7.2.0 guest additions.

Any suggestions?

I have two monitors: monitor 1 is the main for my host system (Windows 11) and monitor 2 is used for guest machine (also Windows 11).

My guest machine always running in full screen mode on monitor 2 but after upgrading to VirtualBox 7.2.0 it starts on monitor 1. If I exit full screen mode the guest window jumps to monitor 2 immediately and if I switch back to full screen than it continue to run on monitor 2 in full screen mode, but as soon as I power off the guest and power it on again, it again powers on in full screen mode on monitor 1

I've tried manually editing .vbox file of the guest virtual machine but it seems like VirtualBox does not save the changes after the guest is turned off.

I have updated the VB extension pack of course.

After uninstalling the 7.2.0 and installing back the 7.1.12 everything back to normal and work like a charm (even without the 7.1.12 extension pack that I forgot to install before running the guest machine at first).

I believe that this is why you are getting the overlap of the screens... VB just turns them both on the same monitor because it does not save the full screen guest on another monitor position.

Funny how with each new "major" update VB has these "obvious" bugs. The 7.1.0 had the issue where it would not recognize the network adapter in NAT settings, only in Bridge Network settings

I guess we just have to wait for an 7.2.1 update.......

Seeing this same thing on Windows 11 host, Ubuntu 24.04 guest.

I have this issue at work and at home.
I was able to get the screens separated somehow at work via the view, enable, set host screen, trying a bunch of things.
But I can't get them separated at home, they both want to be on the same monitor.

I'm having the same issue with Windows 10 and 11 hosts (and Windows 10 guests) running version 7.2.2.
I had to revert to version 7.1.12 to get my two screens back!

Hello, we had few public Github records mentioning this one bug. It should be fixed in VBox 7.2.6.

Version 7.2.12 is once again experiencing display issues. If the guest session was locked, the login page is not visible. Minimizing the window to the taskbar and restoring it makes the login screen appear. After logging in, the screen goes black: again, minimizing and restoring the window makes the image visible.

There have been no changes to the UI code for several months now due to lack of resources. The problems are unfortunately not reproducible for the remaining developers.
