Xubuntu 26.04 Guest Additions not working

Post by knichel »

I run VB on a Windows 11 computer. I installed Xubuntu 26.04 and then the GA but screen reisizing is not working. I have to manually change the resolution within Xubuntu Display settings to get a larger screen and if I shrink it, it doesn't shrink, it just presents scroll bars.
I have reinstalled GA several times and no luck.

Additionally, ubuntu 26.04 wayland + vbox win10 screen splitting is not supported(Win + -> or <-), and host text cannot be copied and pasted to the virtual machine.

Question: Are you using the VMSVGA controller (3D)?

Just installed clean 24.04 and GA and all worked just fine. Something with 26.04 is not happy...

ENV: ubuntu budgie 26.04 + vbox7.2.10
I upgraded to version 7.2.10, disabled the feature, then re-enabled it; it now works fine.

Split-screen (win + ← or win+→) functionality is currently unavailable in the main virtual machine.
