Windows 10 guest VM crashes a few minutes after booting up

Post by Atalanttore »

Hi,

For over a week now, a Windows 10 guest VM has been crashing a few minutes after successfully booting up. The host system is Linux Mint 22.3.

Attached is a log file covering the period from startup to the crash of the Windows 10 guest VM.

What is causing these crashes?

A couple of things you could try.

1. All your physical cores are assigned to the VM. Hyperthreaded CPUs don't count. Try reducing CPU count of the VM to 3.
2. Try reducing the RAM allocation in the VM. You are very close to the available RAM so try using 8GB which should give you a headroom of about 3GB.

I've followed all of your recommendations. Unfortunately, the Windows 10 guest VM still crashes a few minutes after starting up.

On the other hand, the Windows 10 guest VM worked without any issues for several months using the old settings.
