VirtualBox 7.2.8 creates log files in my home folder

Post by Paddy Landau »

Since updating from version 7.1.18 to 7.2.8 last week, VirtualBox has been saving extra log files in my home folder.

The file names follow this pattern:

Code: Select all

2026-05-11-14-53-27.085-VirtualBoxVM-101564.log
These are in addition to the normal log files, which thankfully still go in their proper place.

This is quite intrusive; log files don't belong in the home folder. How can I stop VirtualBox from doing this?
