I've come across 2 issue that have me puzzled.
On my M4 Pro Mac mini, running MacOS 26.4.1 and VirtualBox Version 7.2.6 r172322 (Qt6.8.0 on cocoa), all my VM's (both Linux & Windows11) use a Bridged Adapter network connection. en0:WiFi. And all the VM's seem to start on a separate Desktop. I can press the Control key plus the < key and switch back to the MacOS Desktop.
However on my new M5Pro MacBook Pro, running MacOS 26.4.1 and Version 7.2.6 r172322 (Qt6.8.0 on cocoa), the VM's will only startup if the Network is set to NAT. Using the Bridged Adapter network connection en0:WiFi results in the attached error. Not a big deal, but it's something different than the M4 Pro Mac Mini. I'm wondering if it's because the MacBook doesn't have a physical ethernet port like the M4.
The system information on the MacBook Pro indicates the Networking chip is the N1.
Both the Mac mini and the MacBook Pro are connected to the same WiFI network. I don't have physical ethernet network.
The more troubling thing for me is that on the MacBook the VM's start on the same Desktop as the running MacOS. The Control key plus the < key doesn't work. So I can't toggle between Desktops. I have checked all the VirtualBox Preference setting on both machines and cannot see any differences.
Anyone else come across this?

Re: M5Pro MacBook Pro Network & Display Issues
What AdapterType have you selected in the VirtualBox Network settings?
I am currently running a Windows 11 VM using WiFi bridging with an Ethernet over USB (usbnet) adapter. The host does have an ethernet adapter but the cable is physically removed.

Re: M5Pro MacBook Pro Network & Display Issues
I set the Adapter Type to WiFi bridging with an Ethernet over USB (usbnet) adapter, same as on the M4 Pro Mac Mini.
This make me think it’s either because the MacBook Pro’s doesn’t have an either net adapter. Or the M5 Pro MacBook Pro has Apples new N1 Chip for Networking.
I’m curious what Network Chip the previous MacBook Pro’s used (M1,M2,M3 etc..)
Is anyone on the forum using VirtualBox on a MacBook Pro with a Bridged Network adapter connection using WiFi bridging with Ethernet over USB (subnet)?
