'Can't enumerate USB devices' despite having added user to vboxusers, etc.

Post by zeke82 »

I know this is a common problem but I've tried all the fixes I've read about. I'm running VirtualBox 7.2.6 (on debian bookworm), with the extension pack installed and active.

I have added my user name to the vboxusers group and restarted my linux session to be sure user names are updated. (I've also tried starting Virtual box as su). However, when I launch VirtualBox, I immediately get the "Can't enumerate USB devices" error, before I've started a virtual machine. (My virtual machine does have the USB controller enabled and a filter created, but of course that doesn't help since VirtualBox itself isn't finding any usb devices).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
