Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes:
I'm seeing a weird mouse lagging behaviour on the following system:
Windows 10 Virtualbox 7.2.6 r172322
Linux Mint guest (Ubuntu 20.04)
Extension Pack 7.2.6 r172322
Guest Additions installed (same version)
Ok... here goes...
When first booted up with the guest with full Mouse Integration enabled, the mouse is perfectly fine, responsive and does not lag. Works in full screen and windowed, no issues. However if I leave the VM running, maybe in a week I start to notice that the mouse lags getting worse and worse over time. Switching off Mouse Integration and the cursor is fine (no lag). Turning Mouse Integration back on and the cursors lags again. This just gets worse and worse over time and nothing I do seems to fix it.
Here's the weird part:
Shutting down the VM and booting it from scratch _does_ _not_ fix the issue! Now from the get go, the mouse lags as much as it did when I shut the VM down. Starting another (Linux) VM with full Mouse Integration on weirdly does _not_ lag! Even shutting down all of VirtualBox (services etc.) in between restarting the VM, the mouse still lags on boot in that original VM(and continues to get worse over time).
The _only_ thing that fixes the issue is to reboot the host (which is why I'm posting in this channel). It's seems really weird to me that some state for Mouse Integration is surviving across VM boots.
I've tried a lot of things, increasing VM RAM, video memory, enabling/disabling 3D acceleration, futzed with all versions of USB versions, tried all of the pointer options (PS/2, tablet etc.), resinstalled extensions, additions etc.
The VM itself seems to have normal stats, processors idling, memory at nominal usage (no swap in use), load is 0, other performance is fine (compiling and linking take the same amount of time), the keyboard doesn't lag...
It's so weird, has anyone else seen something similar?
