I am currently running windows 10 as a VM on Ubuntu Linux 22.04. Oracle ver 7.1.12, guest and corresponding extension pack successfully loaded. My usb devices, set from an earlier version, are not being recognized by windows 10 anymore.
Previously, I had oracle vb 6.x.xx installed on ubuntu 20.04 on the same laptop. usb devices, especially data cables for updating amateur radio software, and audio/cat control for an amateur radio all worked just fine. Before updating, I saved the vm folder containing windows 10.
After installing oracle vb ver 7.1.12 I copied the windows 10 folders back into the vm folder. Windows 10 boots fine, the ethernet and wlan connections both work. Problem is the usb.
Like I said, guest and correct extension packs installed. I have seen similar posts in this forum, but none describing a situation like mine. So, if any reader of this post has a suggestion, please write me in the forum or directly to my email: frank_zappa@gmx.net
